When Susannah Met Poppy

What it’s like to be the sibling of a young person with complex needs

We are excited to share something a little different for half term. Being the sibling of a young person with complex needs offers a unique perspective. In the following film, Jonathan’s sister Susannah (age 14) chats with Poppy (age 12) who whose younger sister Florence also has complex needs and uses Augmentative & Alternative Communication.

In Poppy’s words:

I have an awesome little sister...People assume she’s stupid but actually, she’s incredibly clever...It’s not just about physical limits
— Poppy, age 12
