24th November, 2017
On Friday November 24th Jonathan Bryan, along with his mother Chantal and teacher Sarah, was invited to speak on behalf of Teach Us Too at the National PMLD conference. This conference, held in Manchester, was organised in order to launch new PMLD Service Standards for educational, health and social care providers, to enhance the life experiences of children and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Jonathan was a key note speaker and had the opportunity to show his short film to a room full of professionals, Commissioners, service providers and parents. The film and Jonathan’s speech were very well received with many seeking Jonathan out afterwards to hear more about his Teach Us Too message.
Jonathan shared his message that one must not judge a book by its cover and never presume that a child labelled with PMLD is not worth teaching. All children deserve high quality education and in particular the teaching of literacy skills. Physical disability and cognitive ability should not be confused with one another!
